Aside from our programs, we think it’s important to look out for the people in our church community individually. The Shepherd’s Staff provides prayer and support, and the Benevolence Team assists with practical and material needs.
Shepherd’s Staff
The ministry of Shepherd’s Staff is to encourage and pray for the people of Bethel. Each person, couple or family at Bethel is assigned to a member of the Shepherd’s Staff Ministry Team. Team members keep in contact with their assigned people to keep up on their lives and take prayer requests. Shepherd’s Staff is a quiet, behind-the-scenes ministry of caring for others.
Benevolence Team
The Benevolence Team seeks to serve the needy: first Bethel’s own members, then the wider community. Our services include: financial assistance, including planning and counseling; referring people to appropriate public assistance agencies; providing food in emergencies, as well as on an ongoing basis as needed; temporary help with home care and maintenance; clothing; and health care.
To be an effective part of the Benevolence Team, you should be compassionate, analytical, and have the ability to preserve dignity and confidentiality. You must also have implicit faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you are interested in helping with either of these ministries, contact the church office.
